Live Your Life Today

All photographs taken on the same day, whilst being lost, in between Sedgefield and Stockton. The title is taken from an advertisement for housing in the area.

2013

Sedgefield was the constituency of Tony Blair during his time as prime minister. The homes are luxurious bordering on decadent and it is surrounded by rural farmland. It neighbours Stockton-Riverside, one of the poorest areas in the UK. Stockton's town centre is overlooked by factories now long since abandoned. One day I got lost between the two of them. It was a foggy day and the supermarkets and housing estates all looked the same.  A strange suburbia, caught in between the city and the country.

Stockton was a brexit stronghold in the 2016 EU referendum.
